Scarlett Shaw has an extensive background dedicated to advocacy and public service. She is a Texas native that has committed herself to serving her clients in both the public and private sector.
Prior to pursuing a career as an attorney, Scarlett received a bachelors and masters degree in social work from Texas State University. Her educational background provided her with the foundation to empathetically serve her client’s emotional needs. As a licensed master social worker, she fulfilled direct care and macro-based positions ranging from providing mental health and rehabilitative services to incarcerated juveniles to serving as the legislative director for a Texas House of Representatives. Additionally, Scarlett volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem with CASA, among other volunteer positions. In these positions, Scarlett displayed her commitment to fighting for her client’s well-being and advocating for their best interest.
While attending law school at Texas Southern University – Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Scarlett dedicated herself to exploring various sections of legal practice. She participated in multiple student organizations, including the Hispanic Law Student Association and the Death Penalty Awareness Society. Scarlett balanced her academic and professional life by pursuing multiple legal positions, including working on wrongful conviction cases with an innocence clinic and serving as a Student Attorney for her school’s family law clinic. She discovered her passion for personal injury while serving as a clerk for Harris County 165th Civil Court, which prepared her to anticipate the needs of her clients and gave her the knowledge necessary to succeed in personal injury law.
Scarlett continues to dedicate herself to fighting for her clients and advocating for their best interest. Outside of the office, Scarlett enjoys exploring Austin’s many beautiful parks, restaurants, and nightlife.
